Regulatory programs activated by galectin-1.
Galectin-1 activates a regulatory program on tolerogenic dendritic cells that, through IL-27 secretion, stimulates IL-10 production in Treg cells which, in turn, favors autoimmunity resolution, but impairs inflammation resolution and helps tumor immune escape.
Galectin-1 activates tolerogenic programs on dendritic cells through mechanisms involving IL-27 and IL-10 secretion. These circuits instruct DCs to become tolerogenic, favoring the resolution of autoimmunity and contributing to tumor escape.
